About Me:

Hi, I’m Sarah Wren Robinson,  a photographer, music writer, and zine maker from Black Mountain, North Carolina, studying for my BFA in Photojournalism at George Washington University. 

My path here wasn't straight. I spent my first year and a half in college as a pre-med student, drawn by a genuine need to contribute something meaningful to the world. But after a hurricane struck my hometown and I found my way back to what I needed, I found my way back to photography. It was the thing that gave me joy when I had very little else. It still is. 

I work across music and community photography, chasing candid moments and stories that live in them. I'm interested in how people connect with the spaces around them, and how communities respond when the world asks of them politically or socially. That curiosity shows up whether I'm at a show, a neighborhood event, or somewhere in between. 

Alongside my photography, I write for WRGW District Radio's music blog and serve as Co-Creative Director of The Papercut, their print zine.
